A massive solar energy project completed at GM Lordstown by MVNECA member “Joe” Dickey Electric was profiled in a broadcast segment on ElectricTV.net.

The project involved the ground-mounted installation of 8,550 solar panels on the assembly plant’s property, which covered 6.5 acres and will generate 2.2 megawatts of energy for use inside the facility.
Dickey Electric General Foreman Jaime Burdette, a member of IBEW Local 573, said in the broadcast segment the crew worked six and seven days per week about 10 hours a day during the coldest days in December to meet an aggressive timeline set forth by GM, and the project was a success.
The solar array is GM’s largest in the Western Hemisphere.
Dickey Electric in 2013 installed a solar array on the roof of a Walmart in Liberty, Ohio.
