Faces of the Trade: Garrett Chetock

Having a good memory is a requirement in the electrician field. It’s also a big key when playing guitar in a band. For fifth-year apprentice Garrett Chetock, he puts his mind to good use to perfect his electrician craft and musical passion.

When he was young, he started to gravitate toward music and his favorite instrument.

“I have played music since first grade,” he said. “I just picked up a guitar and loved it since then.”

Veterans, students benefit from NECA-IBEW community outreach in 2017

2017 – The year in photos. Capturing moments of NECA-IBEW Electricians impacting the Mahoning Valley community

One of the characteristics that differentiates NECA-IBEW Electricians member contractors and IBEW electricians is the positive impact we make in the community.

And one cause we’ve taken head-on in recent years is our support of area Veterans. To that end, we’ve:

  • Helped rebuild local VFW halls
  • Raised money for Veterans scholarships at YSU
  • Promoted NECA and IBEW’s Helmets to Hardhats initiative to recruit former service members to the construction industry
  • Sponsored Military Appreciation Nights at Eastwood Field to honor Veterans at Mahoning Valley Scrappers games
  • Provided financial assistance for local female Veterans-in-need to buy gifts for their children for Christmas
